Text Alert* Program: Timely Information and Easy Verification

Knowing precisely what's going on with your Monterra accounts, cards, and loans is vital to peace of mind. Text alerts are sent regarding your account, card, loan or for general information. Alerts are generated by a variety of sources and are sent from or identified as a phone number or shortened code that may be different from our main phone number. In order to ensure the short codes generating the text is from Monterra, you can verify these numbers from the list below:  

IMPORTANT: Monterra Credit Union will NEVER text, call or email you and ask for account, PIN, debit or credit card numbers.

TEXT ALERT PROGRAM SHORT CODE/PHONE NUMBER REASON/HOW TO OPT-IN OR OPT-OUT
Member Service (Monterra Texting: 94701) Used to communicate general notices, reminders such as branch or holiday closure and general account information. You can also text us general inquires during our texting hours of operations. You can opt-in by texting “START” to the short code listed. You can opt-out of this type of text alert by simply replying “STOP” at any time when texting this number. To request more information, text “HELP”. Message frequency varies and is dependent on text alert type.

Debit/Credit Fraud Alerts (23618)

You are automatically enrolled in this alert type, as a fraud prevention tool for your credit or debit card(s). This alert type verifies card activity which may seem out of the ordinary from your typical card usage pattern. We highly recommend that you do not opt-out from these alert types, but if you choose to do so you can by replying “Stop” to the text alert upon receiving.

Digital Banking & Card Alerts (67669) You can get a variety of account and debit/credit card alerts via text, push notifications or email. Stay informed of account activity, balances, card purchases and more.  Set up Account Alerts from the “Resources & Tools” menu.  To set up Card Alerts, visit the “Manage Your Card” menu. From there you can also use other features such as block/unblocking your card, placing a travel notice, or ordering a new card. 

Loan Applications
Monterra Lending Center: (39703)

Used to provide notifications regarding a loan's status and reminders to complete loan documents. Your consent for this Text Messaging is given at the time you provided the Credit Union with your mobile phone number and set forth in your Membership, Truths in Savings Agreement and Disclosure. You can opt-in by texting “START” to the short code listed. You can opt-out of this type of text alert by simply replying “STOP” at any time when texting this number. To request more information, text “HELP”. Message frequency varies and is dependent on text alert type.

Payment Reminders/Fraud Communication
(Monterra Financial Assistance: 97612)
Used to provide payment reminder and notifications from our internal fraud team regarding your claim or potential security issue involving your account.
Your consent for this text messaging is given when you provide us with your mobile number in your loan application. You can opt-in by texting “START” to the short code listed. You can opt-out of this type of text alert by simply replying “STOP” at any time when texting this number. To request more information, text “HELP”.  Message frequency varies and is dependent on text alert type.
Proof of Insurance (30101) Providing proof of insurance is a requirement for all vehicle loans financed through Monterra Credit Union. This reminder asks you to provide current proof of car insurance and/or informs you that insurance coverage will be placed on your auto loan. Visit monterracu.imcovered.com to update your insurance information. 

Marketing and Promotional

Stay in the know by providing your opt-in to our marketing and promotional texts! You can get updates on our marketing and promotional offers via text. To opt in, text START to 37681. You can opt-out at any time by replying STOP to the text message short code. To request more information, text "HELP". Below are types of activity that can trigger a text alert notification to you:
  • Account transactions from a checking or savings which includes withdrawals, deposits, account balances, logging into Online or Mobile Banking, access authentication, budget status, and savings goal progress
  • Loan information such as payment reminders as well as loan status updates from new and pending loans 
  • General notices and reminders include suspicious activity on a card or account, membership and account information, branch and holiday closures and responses regarding an inquiry or question
  • Card (debit or credit) transactions such as purchase(s), credit(s), enrollment9s), international as well as withdrawal, or low-balance alerts
