Visa Zero Liability Policy*

Take a moment to sign for your debit card purchase instead of using your PIN so you're protected by the Visa Zero Liability Policy*. For transactions you haven’t authorized, we’ll reimburse 100%¹ of the transaction amount, plus any related account charges resulting from such transactions.

Free text fraud alerts

We'll immediately text you when potential fraud on your debit card occurs. Your Monterra Credit Union Visa® Debit Card is enrolled automatically for this protection, free of charge.

How to update your cell phone and email:

  • Log into Online Banking and select “settings” at the top
  • Select Profile and click on Email and Phone Number
  • Answer the security prompt then update your information

How do free text fraud alerts work?

A text message will be sent to your cell phone when a suspicious transaction is identified on your Monterra Credit Union Visa® Debit Card. You simply reply “yes” or “no”.

If you text:
“Yes” – your card will remain available for use.
“No” – you indicate that you believe this is not a purchase of yours; we will then text a number for you to call to validate the charge.

*Visa’s Zero Liability Policy does not apply to certain commercial card and anonymous prepaid card transactions or transactions not processed by Visa.
